Player Profile: Brooke Vaillancourt
Brooke Vaillancourt is a Canadian soccer player whose passion for the game has been evident since the age of five. From her first moments on the field in a local community league, it was clear that Brooke had a natural drive, a sharp soccer mind, and a strong work ethic.
In 2017, Brooke took the next step in her development by joining the Edmonton Selects Soccer Club, where she quickly grew into a standout player. Just two years later, she advanced to the Edmonton Scottish Soccer Club, where she continues to play today, now as team captain, leading with both skill and poise. In 2022 she was selected for the Canadian Player Development Roster under the mentorship of Coach Rob Jones.
A natural center back, Brooke is known for her calm presence on the back line, her strong positional sense, and her ability to read the game under pressure. She is a powerful, reliable defender who takes pride in shutting down attacks, winning aerial battles, and organizing her team from the back. Her quiet communication, leadership, and commitment to clean, disciplined defending make her an anchor for any back line.
In 2024, Brooke earned a spot on the University of Alberta’s Junior Pandas training squad and was also selected for the Whitecaps "CAPS to College" training program based Vancouver, British Columbia; an elite platform that connects top players with collegiate programs across North America.
Off the field, Brooke has also excelled in the classroom. A consistent honor student throughout her academic career, she currently holds a 4.0 GPA, balancing her high-level athletic commitments with a strong dedication to academic excellence.
With years of experience, leadership as captain of her Edmonton Scottish club, and a reputation as a rock-solid defender, Brooke Vaillancourt continues to make strides in her soccer journey.
